What Value Is Found In Supporting Ministry?

Solomon said, "BUY THE TRUTH, AND SELL IT NOT; ALSO (buy) WISDOM, INSTRUCTION, AND UNDERSTANDING." (Pr. 23:23). Here Solomon's wisdom presents the student with a quandary, "How can one buy what is not for sale?" Jesus taught his disciples "TO FREELY GIVE, WHAT THEY HAD FREELY RECEIVED." His statement concludes that the message, healing, cleansing of lepers, raising the dead, and casting out demons were all things that they had freely received and therefore they should be freely given. However, in nearly the same breath, Jesus went on to say, "THE LABORER IS WORTHY OF HIS HIRE" and here his statement includes personal finances, cost of the journey, clothing, vehicle, lodging, and food. (Mt. 10:5-14, Lk. 10:2-11).

Thus, we see the principle of ministry support set forth in the word of God. The ministry of the word and power of God is to be freely given at all times. We have absolutely nothing to sell, all of our teaching materials are sent out without a fixed charge, to those who request them. They are sent freely to prisoners, widows, and third world countries. Our web site is becoming more accessible and everything that is on this site can be copied and freely shared. We only ask you to not alter or put a price on what you share from our site. No one is too poor to have access to the Good News of the Happy God, who is Savior of all and Condemner of none. We believe everyone should have access to what the Lord has so freely given.

When the Lord separated me from the work force to travel in ministry in 1971, it was not an easy transition in my thinking. For I was already ministering "full time" and supporting myself, by the work of my hands. So I tried reasoning with the Lord, which might be construed as compromise, I cut back my hours of employment and traveled short distances to minister to the body of Christ on weekends. However, the call to travel continued to increase. The ministry grew to the place that I recognized I had to give myself to my employment or to the traveling ministry, I was no longer able to do both. This meant a new trust had to birth within my life, for I had to completely trust the Father for our provision; understanding that it would come as I faithfully and freely gave what he had given me. The ministry grew to the place that I was traveling or in meetings eleven months of the year. Many of these meetings were in impoverished third world countries. However, even these brethren gave freely of their substance without requirement. It was not long before I learned that the provision for such a ministry comes through responsible people, those who have become faithful stewards in things pertaining to God's kingdom. These recognize that in giving freely of their substance God faithfully gives back to them. Not always in dollars and cents, but it is always an increase within their life. As Jesus said, "GIVE, AND GIFTS SHALL BESTOWED ON YOU. FULL MEASURE, PRESSED, SHAKEN DOWN, AMD RUNNING OVER, SHALL THEY POUR INTO YOUR LAPS; FOR WITH THE SAME MEASURE THAT YOU USE THEY SHALL MEASURE TO YOU IN RETURN." (Lk. 6:37-38)

Even with the Internet there is an ever growing expense in ministry. The equipment, materials, web space and shipping costs continue to grow and the need must be covered to enable the ministry to continue to expand. Those who are faithful stewards practice "buying" the materials and supporting the ministry. This has become even more apparent in the past six years, as I became incapable of traveling like I had in the past. Renal Failure prevents the long extended journeys I made for nearly 48 years. However, the Father;s hand is seen even in this, as we learn web mastering and continue to make the word available to even more than we have in the past.

We cannot put a price on God's Word because we believe the Word to be invaluable or priceless. We do understand when one invests in the message of the kingdom a blessing follows. Proverbs says, "Honor the Lord with your substance, and with the first-fruits of all your increase; and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine." (Pro. 3:9-10). Thus, we are asking you to help us defray the costs in whatever way you are able. Moreover, if you find any value in the word or the messenger, we are asking that you will give a "love offering" to help in the support of this world wide ministry.

"But I say this, He who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. EACH ONE, AS HE PURPOSES IN HIS HEART, LET HIM GIVE LET HIM GIVE; NOT RELUCTANTLY OR UNDER COMPULSION, FOR GOD LOVE A CHEERFUL GIVER. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that in everything, always having all self-sufficiency, you may abound to every good work; As it is written, "He scattered; he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever." Now He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, may He supply and multiply your seed, and increase the fruits of your righteousness you being enriched in everything to all generosity, which works out thanksgiving to God through us." (2Co 9:6-11).
